identification of data

BODM Identification of DataTo generate an intelligent and complete spatial data model, a thorough analysis and search for content must be performed.

At Genasys, we are content integrators and do not produce content or cartographic data. This means that we have complete liberty when setting about finding and selecting the data that best meets the requirements of each project. We are not bound to any particular source and can therefore choose data from a variety of sources to meet both the technical and economic requirements imposed by the client.

The search for initial content is made complex by a variety of challenges presented by the market for data. As a result of our extensive experience selecting data from both national and international sources, we are prepared for these challenges and capable of simplifying the problems they pose. For example:

  • Wide variety of data sources. These include the client, national and regional geographic authorities, and private companies.
  • Data provided in various mediums. These include paper, digital cartography, plain and map-integrated aerial photos, satellite images, and more.
  • Differences in maintenance and updating of data.
  • Standards for format not universally applied. Although standards exist, they are not applied consistently enough to enable the sourcing of data to meet the technical specifications of each project.

By maintaining regular contact with several key information providers, we are able to stay abreast of the policies used for the generation and maintenance of geographic content. This helps us complete the analysis and data selection process quickly and meet the requirements of each project.
