GPPm
The
GPPm platform (Genasys Positioning Platform
Middleware) extends the characteristics of the GPP platform
to include support for a variety of interoperability scenarios
connecting different mobile carriers.
Just as GPP is designed to provide service to a single
mobile operator network, GPPm supports the following scenarios
for the provision of its interoperability services to one
or more networks:
- Acting as an LBS development platform within a Portal,
ASP or MVNO (Virtual Mobile Network Operator).
- Acting as "global" LES shared between multiple
operators who each have their own location servers.
- Set up as an external gateway that provides both external
ASPs and operator-specific LBS applications with access
to the location systems of multiple operators.
GPPm is a complete solution with unique capabilities for
generating business opportunities related to the development
and delivery of LBS applications to mobile users regardless
of the network to which they subscribe locally.
The ASP benefits from access to a complete set of API functions
that not only cover both basic and advanced location services
based upon the OMA MLP 3.2.0 standard, but also provisioning
of users and groups of users.
The connection between GPPm and each operator consists
of the following interfaces:
- The operator's LES or location server that provides basic
location services.
- The operator's SMS Center for the provisioning of user.
Users can be registered in applications using procedures
that prevent the applications from knowing their identity.
- Optional interface with the operator's application and
subscriber provisioning systems.
Through these interfaces, GPPm meets all operator security
and privacy requirements to prevent application providers
from accessing personal subscriber data.
In addition to all of the power and robustness provided
through its foundations on GPP, GPPm also supports:
- Connections with multiple SMS Centres provided by specific
brokers.
- Connections with multiple GeoServers for map generation,
route calculation, direct and reverse geocoding, POI searches,
etc.
- Billing management per application, user, operator or
external broker.
