In our experience designing solutions for telecommunications companies, Genasys has developed a set of tools and applications oriented towards the geospatial management and inventory for fixed and mobile networks. We have developed such applications for GSM, optical, and LMDS networks as well as networks for the distribution of electricity and power line connection (PLC) systems.
Using intuitive graphical interfaces, the applications employ maps to display the geographic locations of network elements. With a single click, the user can access the information associated to each one. Graphic elements can be modified as the user wishes and grouped or selected by various attributes. A set of editing tools also allow for the easy incorporation of new elements
These solutions have been developed using a variety of
existing GIS products by vendors such as such as GenaMap,
MapInfo, and GE, as well as relational database management
systems by Oracle, Sybase and Informix. In each case,
the clients' existing infrastructure was used to create
a complete solution meeting the requirements of the each
project.
It is important to emphasize that these solutions are not only useful to operators but also to public organizations that need a similar ability to control the location of telecomunications and public utility resources.
