Mar 2006. LBS Roaming a Hot Topic at MLS Asia Conference

With several Asian mobile services markets already delivering a variety of advanced location services, the topic of LBS roaming generated an understandably high level of interest among the attendees of MLS Asia.

During his presentation, Genasys Business Development Director Fernando Lalanda, introduced a compelling use case for LBS roaming services and proceeded to describe both technical and business models that will make roaming work in the future.

Mr. Lalanda comments on his presentation, "I was delighted by the interest expressed by the attendees. We firmly believe in the value and the potential for roaming for location-based services. It's gratifying to see that feeling shared by other stakeholders in the LBS market."

Especially interesting was the interest exhibited by operators and service providers in large national markets where in-country roaming is common and indeed necessary. It is in these countries that the case for roaming of location-based services is perhaps the strongest.

Mr. Lalanda will be presenting another expert session about LBS in-roaming and out-roaming in the MLS 2006 conference that will take place in Amsterdam on the 17th and 18th of May.
