Genasys appoints new Directors, reinforces its international
commercial LBS committment
This summer Genasys, a company specialized in location-based
services, geographic information systems, and professional
services, welcomed two new professionals to its executive
team: Alberto Nicoletti as Director of Sales and Marketing
and Juan Carlos Martínez Peinado as Director for
Global Business Development.
These appointments come at a time when Genasys is planning
to widen its presence in the LBS value chain. Genasys has
long been a recognized provider in the middleware space
as well as a provider of applications to its mobile operator
clients. Over the next year, however, we can expect to see
a good deal more activity in the applications area, not
only with operators but also with a variety of different
businesses that can use location technology to expand and
improve their customer service as well as become innovative
leaders in their sectors. Both Martínez Peinado and
Nicoletti bring the strong professional backgrounds and
commercial experience necessary to lead the company's commercial
activities.
For more than 25 years, Mr Nicoletti has been developing
an international career in the Oil & Gas, IT and business
consulting sectors during which he worked in ten countries
in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia. Most recently
he has held executive positions at Schlumberger, Sema Group
and BearingPoint.
Mr. Nicoletti comments on his new position, "It's an
exciting time for Genasys, a company recognized as one of
the leaders in the very competitive and extremely promising
Location Based Services (LBS) market. After growing its
installed base of location enabling platforms over the past
few years and investing in developing new LBS applications,
the company is poised for significant growth expanding its
offering of products and services internationally."
Mr. Martínez Peinado brings with him years of valuable
experience in the telecommunications and IT sectors having
developed the best part of his career within the Telefónica
Group. Most recently, he's occupied executive/strategic
positions in companies like Vía Digital, Telefónica
Advanced Information Services, Teleline, and Telefónica
Systems.
"I'm delighted to join Genasys and be part of a team
with such a high level of professionalism and capacity for
innovation, especially at a time when the mobile telecommunications
sector is seeing the launch of more and more value-added
services. These services are crucial for growth and for
subscriber loyalty in a market that is increasingly global
and competitive. In this environment, it is essential to
build strong alliances between members of the value chain,
from content providers to application developers and onto
the network operators and technology providers" declares
Mr. Martinez Peinado.
